SWORD AND MIND
"Man fights with his mind. His hands and his weapons are simply extensions of his will, and one of the fallacies of our era is the notion that equipment is the equivalent of force." - Colonel Jeff Cooper
Sword and Mind offers both group and private instruction in the safe and effective use of firearms.
We specialize in working with beginner and intermediate students, couples, and families. Our instructors provide easy to understand and effective ways to learn and practice cutting-edge principles of defensive firearm use.
Our goal at Sword and Mind is for our clients to feel both comfortable and confident when handling firearms, whether going to the range with friends -- or prepping the home for a defensive scenario.
We offer training on topics such as:
Firearm Safety & Maintenance, Principles of Firearm Mechanics, Grip & Stance, Trigger Manipulation & Sight Alignment, Loading, Unloading, and Clearing Malfunctions, Lights, Lasers, Optics & Accessories, Holster Draw & Concealment, Home Defense & Personal Defense, and more...
Rental guns are free, and all targets, protective equipment, and fees will be covered by Sword and Mind. Ammo is not provided at this time but can be purchased from the range.
No prior firearms experience is required. We cater to all ages and skill levels. Our money-back guarantee exists to make sure that each client finds their training valuable and relevant.
At Sword and Mind we believe very strongly that clients seeking firearms instruction should vet potential instructors before paying for classes.
We recommend asking potential instructors questions like:
"How long have you been instructing?"
"What are your qualifications that make you an expert in firearms?"
"What are your qualifications that make you an expert in teaching?"
"How do you keep up with your own training?"
While Military or LE experience can add valuable insight, attributes that we find truly measure the quality of an instructor include:
Prior teaching experience
A calm and patient demeanor
The ability to actively demonstrate expert level aptitude in the skills they teach
Evidence of recent training, showing a willingness to continue their education and perfect their own skills and methods...
